Spain released its provisional 30 man squad as part of the 2014 FIFA World Cup preparations. The preliminary squad featured Daniel Carvajal and Ander Iturraspe who are both uncapped.
Fernando Torres was also named in the squad but Isco and Alvaro Arbeloa who are both Real Madrid players missed out on the selection process.
Arbeloa has played for Spain national team for a total of six years in both World Cup Tournaments and European Championships and is said to have a lot of experience.
However, his skills will not be needed by Spain in the 2014 FIFA World Cup as he was omitted by Vicente Del Bosque who is the manager of Spain.
Carvajal on the other hand has had a very good season after making a return to real Madrid and it has been a contributing factor for securing a place into Vicente’s squad.
The other players who did not secure a place in the preliminary 30 man list include Roberto Soldado a striker at Tottenham though he has performed poorly in the season he was at White hart lane.
Isco is one of Madrid high rated player that was left out by Spain’s manager. Torres who is Chelsea’s striker despite missing out on the previous Spain squad this round was luck not to be left out by Vicente.
Torres in the 2012 and 2008 Euro championship scored during the finals stages for his national team. The 30 man squad named by Del Bosque consist of 8 more players from Barclays Premier league when Torres is excluded.
Liverpool produced Jose Reina who has been on loan at Napoli. Manchester City produced three players Jesus Navas, David Silva and Avaro Negredo, Manchester United two players while Arsenal and Chelsea both produced one player.
Barcelona produced 7 players as Atletico and real Madrid produced four each. The defending champions are in group D with Chile, Holland and Australia. The Final 23 man squad for Spain will be released by Del Bosque on 25th May.
