Roy Hodgson who is the manager of England national team is very much hopeful that his team will have a great performance during the 2014 FIFA World Cup that will kickoff next month in Brazil.

After unveiling the 23 man squad of England for the world cup, the national team is scheduled to travel to Portugal the coming Monday in the final preparations that will involve a friendly match.

Hodgson’s squad consist of players who are very young and are expected to showcase the best of them in the summer tournament. The England boss said that preparation that are correct will be vital and enable them perform extremely well in the 2014 FIFA World Cup.

Hodgson says that he is happy with what is in store the coming two weeks for England national team. He says that they are going into the world cup with the spirit of winning and then work hard to achieve this set goal.

During the interview with Hodgson, he said that they are ambitious to perform well and has the winning spirit in him plus his players. He terms it foolishness going to the 2014 FIFA World Cup with the set mind of losing or just making up for the numbers.

He said that after qualifying, they need now to work extra hard so that they bring the title back home. He said that all this can be achieved by having preparations that are proper and to the required stands. He said that his players must get their minds set right to competing positively.

Hodgson also said that this is the time they are doing all they can to have the programmes that will be favorable for the 23 man squad plus the 7 reservist players. He added that they are organizing meet ups with the payers so that they can be made understand what is expected from them.

He said this will be done during the training sessions and more so in Portugal as he does not want his players to come back very tired for having vigorous trainings.
