In the upcoming 2014 FIFA World Cup, Paul Scholes is urging the England team to have the attacking mentality as that of Liverpool so as to enable them perform extremely well at the summer tournament.
The likes of Raheem Sterling, Steven Gerrard, Daniel Sturridge, Jordan Henderson and Glen Johnson are the English superstars that propelled Liverpool to the top of the Barclays Premier League table till the lost the trophy to Manchester City in a whisker.
This stars are required in the England squad to help the team clinch the 2014 FIFA World Cup title. With 66 caps, Scholes is always fascinated by the way Liverpool play and England should adopt this style in the summer tournament.
He says that according to him, all the 5 Liverpool players should be in the starting team for England as they face Italy on 14th June during their opening match.
The former midfielder of Manchester United said that the when the England team go to the world cup with the attacking mentality of Liverpool they will for sure have a great time. He said that all this can only be achieved by having either 5 or 4 players from the Liverpool club in the first 11 of England during their first match against Italy.
Paul Scholes says that he was disappointed during the 2010 world cup that was held in South Africa. He said that the tournament was full of draws for England. He as the England fan wants Hodgson to up his game and see England scale to the heights of the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
Scholes said that when he saw Liverpool play, he was indeed reminded of Manchester United of the past. Sir Alex Ferguson said in his autobiography that he left out Henderson during the signings when he was the manager of Manchester United.
This is because he feared the style in which Henderson run. Scholes however sees this as the golden ability of the player as far as his career is concerned.
