The hosting country of the 2014 FIFA World Cup under the leadership of Coach Luiz Felipe Scolari announced a 23 man squad for the national team that will be in the campaign towards winning the sixth World Cup title as from 12th June.
Among the 23 players, a total of 16 participated in the 2013 Confederations Cup where Brazil won the title. Besides hosting the world’s most attended event, Brazil are prepared to pull a surprise during the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
The 23 man squad had less surprise and those who were axed out include Ronaldinho who has won a total of 97 caps for his country and also the former world cup player of the year.
Kaka who has also 87 caps for his country together with Robinho who is the AC Milan’s forward player missed out of the squad.
The other international stars who missed out on securing a place into Scolari’s squad are Lucas Moura, Alexandre pato, the midfielders at Liverpool Lucas Leiva and Philippe Coutinho.
Scolari did not leave out the Chelsea quartets Oscar, David Luiz, William and Ramirez plus Paulinho who plays for Tottenham and Fernandinho, the Manchester city star. The Brazil’s 23 man squad will be headed by Neymar the striker of Barcelona.
The 22 years international star has held fans; hopes very high. When unveiling the squad, Scolari said that he is very sure not all people will be in the agreement of the list. Felipe Scolari added that the fans should provide all the needed support to help Brazil clinch the 2014 FIFA World Cup Title.
Cesar who is the player of Toronto FC has been mentioned by Scolari are the first goalkeeper hence will be the one starting the match.
Scolari has added that the players who most of them are newcomers will do their best at the world cup despite most of them lacking that international experience.
Scolari believes that when the players were playing in the European clubs, they indeed gained the required experience. Scolari although says that having that experience at times is very important but he fully has put trust in the players.
