Roy Hodgson who is the manager of England has said that Luke Shaw who is in the 23 man squad for the 2014 FIFA World Cup is not sure as to whether he will be part of the team that will play Peru in a friendly match that is scheduled for today, Friday 30th May.
The Southampton superstar is not suffering from any injury but has been having cold since the beginning of this week. Hodgson together with Steven Gerrard who is his captain confirmed the above statements on Thursday when they held a press conference.
Hodgson said that Shaw accompanied the team on Saturday during the training session though he did not train. He further says that they are not sure the time period Shaw will be affected though the problem seem to be very minor. Hodgson are waiting this morning to find out whether the left back will be in the position to play the friendly match at Wembley.
A good number of England fans are expected to give their team a sendoff that will be passionate when they will be playing their friendly home match before jetting to South America for the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
The very same supporter are scheduled to monitor the players, Hodgson selected into the 23 man squad. The England boss said that after the provisional squad giving a very good impression during the St George’s Park and Portugal training camp.
He said it has been the best training session for the past 10 days as the players showcased their abilities and skills to do well at the summer tournament. Hodgon says that a good number of senior players will be featured in the final squad as the other places are being competed for.
He said that naming of the first eleven players will be done today ahead of the Peru friendly and does not welcome any second guess.
The Hodgson men will be jetting to Miami for the Honduras and Ecuador friendlies that are all part of the preparations for their opening match when they will face Italy on 14th June.
