Lorenzo Insigne and Ciro Immobile may be on the list of the starting XI when they, Italy, play against England in the opening match that is scheduled on Saturday this week.
The duo superstars are Pescara former teammates who were among the starting team on the Sunday’s match against Fluminense where they secured a 5-3 win. The two players have also been responsible for the goals scored at Volta Redonda.
Besides scoring a goal in the match Italy faced Fluminense, Immobile also happen to be the Serie A top scorer in the current season with his club, Torino. The international superstar has also signed the transfer sheets that will see him play for Borrussia Dortmund in the upcoming season.
On the other hand, Insigne who is the striker of Napoli seem to have worked on his chances as far as the starting XI are concerned. He seem to be much ahead of the likes of Antonio Cassano and Mario Balotelli.
When talking to figc.it, Immobile said that the ball is the coat of the manager and their role as players is to work extra hard and give a helping hand even if they won’t be featured on the starting XI.
Immobile is proud of the goals he scored saying that it is just a very good practice netting in every game be it official or unofficial. He further said that they must prepare very well to face England in the 2014 FIFA World Cup which begins in a few days.
Insigne was much thrilled that he will be playing alongside Immobile for another time. He said that they have known each other for a while and hence it won’t be a problem for them working together.
Insigne says that although the defence of Italy was abit shaky, it was not something to worry about. He says that what matters most to them is the outcome of the opening match against England in the upcoming summer tournament.
He admits that England have a squad that is very strong hence need to be very careful when playing against them.
