It is now confirmed that Adnan Januzaj who is the youngest player of Manchester United will be part of the Belgium squad for the 2014 FIFA World Cup. Januzaj who is now aged 19 last month committed to the country in which he was born and without any hesitation, he will now play for Belgium in the upcoming summer tournament.
Januzaj now makes the 12th player to be selected by Marc Wilmots into the Belgium squad from the Premier League. The Belgium boss named a total of 23 players in his squad and will have to drop one when he submits the final squad to FIFA not later than 2nd day of June.
The other international stars that have been included in the squad include Vincent Kompany from Manchester City, Marouane Fellaini from Manchester United, Romelu Lukaku, Thibaut Courtois and Eden Hazard all from Chelsea.
Everton player Kevin Mirallas was also included in the squad. The other superstars who were not left out include Thomas Vermaelen, Jan Vertonghen, Maousa Dembele and Nacer Chadli.
Christian Benteke who has been nursing a very serious injury miss out and was replaced by Divock Origi who is also 19 years old just as Januzaj. Timmy Simons who plays for Brugge Club despite having caps close to 100 was not include in Wilmot’s squad.
A total of four goalkeepers were selected by Wilmots. Silvo Proto was included due to Koen Castleels who currently is having an injury. One of the two players will be dropped before the final squad is submitted to the authorities.
Adnan Januzaj has had a very good season and was hopeful he will play in the 2014 FIFA World Cup. This current season he has 4 own goals and 3 assists.
