England is one of the 32 national teams that will be in the campaign toward the winning of the 2014 FIFA World Cup Title. This a team that has raised a lot of concerns especially from the fans on what type of performance is expected during the summer tournament.
Roy Hodgson who is the manager of England national team is scheduled to unveil his 23 man squad today, Monday 12th May that will fly to Brazil for the global event.
The 66 years old coach will also include 7 players who will be on standby as he makes the announcement of the squad at 1400BST in Luton.
Some of the key players that are not to miss on this squad are Phil Jones and Wayne Rooney who are hoping to be fit before the 2014 FIFA World Cup comes to its kickoff. However, Kyle Walker who is the right back star may miss out due to the injury he is nursing.
June 14th will be the day England will be having their opening match against Italy in Manaus and later after face Uruguay on June 19th and finally close the group matches on June 24th as they face Costa Rica.
During the qualifying matches, England remained unbeaten in the group levels. The Hodgson’s team will however lack the support of Andros Townsend and Theo Walcott who are the players of Tottenham and Arsenal respectively due to the injuries they are suffering from.
Despite the groin injury that has seen him miss the matches from April 20th, Alex Oxlande Chamberlin will be fit for the world cup. Arsene Wenger said that his player in the next one month will be fit for England as he will commence his training session on Wednesday this week.
England is also expected to play a friendly match against Peru on 30th May few days to the confirmation of the final squad for the World Cup. The other friendly matches on plan are with Ecuador and Honduras on 4th and 7th June respectively.
